Two new exhibits are premiering this weekend at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. One of them is called More Than Words, showing off hand written letters of some of our most famous artists over the past century. The art museum jumped at the chance to borrow 60 letters from the Smithsonian Institution.
"It's like being a little bit of a voyeur. You're kinda taking a little peak into the lives of the people," said Associate Museum Director Marcia Theel.
Many visitors taking a first look say it's amazing to see their favorite artists on a personal level.
"Well I enjoyed the ones, Andy Warhol's picture and what he had written, very unique and typical of him," said Judith Swan of Wausau.
The More Than Words exhibit is free to the public and will be on display at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum through January 18, 2009.
If you can't make it to the more than words exhibit, you can still read some of the letters through the link below.
