Laurie Trzcinski, 36, of Mosinee was released today on a signature bond after a court appearance in Wausau. During the initial appearance, Trzcinski was ordered to not have any contact with children under the age of 10, including her own children.
Trzcinksi is accused of intentionally causing bodily harm to a 23-month-old boy in her care. According to a police complaint, the toddler came home with bruises on his legs and red swollen genitals.
The complaint said Trzcinski told investigators she noticed the markings but blamed it on a fall the toddler had while playing with the other children on March 28.
She also admitted to authorities that she did not inform the boy's father of any injuries. The father noticed the swollen area during a diaper change and took his son to the hospital.
Trzcinski's next hearing is set for May 23 at 1:00PM.
