A group in Price County is trying to get a referendum on the November ballot to reduce the number of County Board members.
"Citizens for Fair Taxes" needs 830 signatures to get the referendum on the ballot. They want the number of board members reduced from 21 to 13.
The group got a similar referendum on the March ballot for Price County, and it was defeated by six percent points. That referendum wanted the board down to 7 members.
The Price County Board also formed an ad-hoc committee to discuss reducing the number of members, but is thinking more along the lines of 15 or 17.
