Everest Metro Police on the Move

The village of Weston could have spent $4 million and built a new station for police and fire, instead, they bought and remodeled an existing building for under $2 million.

Now they have plenty of room.

Everest Metro Chief Dan Vergin said they had outgrown their old building years ago.

The force has grown from nine officers 15 years ago to 23 today.

The new building also has room for the Weston municipal court to move in someday, and meeting rooms for community events.

Chief Vergin says they should be completely moved in within a month.
