Three people were transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash on State Hwy. 29 near Marathon Sunday afternoon.
Emergency workers responded to the scene near the Hwy 107 exit around 3 p.m.
A deputy with the Marathon County Sheriff's Department says a vehicle was traveling eastbound, when the driver lost control and swerved into the median.
He says the vehicle flipped into the westbound lanes, crashing into another vehicle that was carrying two snowmobiles.
That vehicle went into the ditch. Two people from the second vehicle were injured, and the driver of the first vehicle.
Busy, holiday traffic was backed up for miles, as emergency crews worked to clean up the scene.
The crash is under investigation.
