3 Children Injured in Chippewa Co. Crash, Driver Jailed

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (AP) -- A River Falls man is behind bars and is suspected of driving drunk in a crash that injured three children in Chippewa County.

The crash happened on Highway 29 about 8 p.m. Sunday when the 40-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle and it overturned. Authorities say one of the three children was thrown from the vehicle. They were taken to a local hospital. Their conditions are not available. All are under 16.

The driver is being held in the Chippewa County Jail.
