Three 13-year-old Madison boys were taken to juvenile reception centers last Friday after police say they stole candy and condoms from a Walgreen's drug store.

According to WMTV-TV, the teens could be charged with armed robbery, retail theft, carrying a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct while armed, and intimidation of victim.

The manager told Police he attempted to stop them from stealing and told them to put the items back. The boys ran out of the store and the manager followed, again asking them to return the items. The manager said at least two of the boys waved knives and ran into a nearby bus. The manager called police and the teen were arrested a short time later.

Police found three knives, a 7-inch steak knife, a 5 1/2 inch steak knife, and a 4 1/2 inch steak knife. One of the teens said he carries one for protection, another said he was cutting food and had forgotten he had left the blade in his pocket.

It happened at the Walgreens located at 606 S. Whitney Way in Madison.

Because the suspects are minors, their names will not be released.
