Wisconsin Based Kohl's Plans to Open 47 New Stores
Menomonee Falls based Kohl's Corp. says it plans to open 47 more department stores by the end of the year, bringing its total number of stores to 1,000.

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (AP) -- Kohl's Corp. says it plans to open 47 more department stores by the end of the year, bringing its total number of stores to 1,000.
The company says the stores will employ 6,000 people.
The 47 stores are part of the company's previously announced plan to open a total of 75 stores this year.
It opened 28 stores earlier this year.
Among the stores opening are Kohl's first locations in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach area as well as the first store in Montana.
Forty-five of the new stores are being built according to a design that is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design pre-certified at the silver level from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Kohl's is based in Menomonee Falls.
