The Wausau Mine Company closed for business to open its doors for special Easter meals Sunday. The restaurant provided dinners free of charge to those in need and anyone who could not be with family for the holiday.

"We've both lost our husbands, and we're all alone," said Bonnie Buntrock of Wausau. "I think it's a wonderful idea that you do that not only for the elderly people but for the young people as well."

"The community had been very, very good to us," said Ron Wage, the restaurant's owner. "We wanted to give something back."

Wage says he and 30 other volunteers fed about 600 people Sunday. People were allowed to pick up food in the morning or sit down for service in the afternoon. Volunteers also delivered meals to those who couldn't come to the event.
