Wisconsin Public Service crews were back on the job Saturday morning to restore power to about 7,000 people in Rhinelander who had gone without electricity since Thursday afternoon.

A public service engineer says the freezing rain the week of April 13 really presented a challenge to technicians who had to restore service in rural areas.

"There are a lot of areas in the woods where there's a tree just about on every wire in some locations," Richard Reitz, a regional engineer said.

Reitz says when an outage happens, they work to restore the main lines first. He says it can take awhile to get to areas where homes are more spread out.

The Public Service reports power was restored to all affected areas by Saturday night.
