The Marathon County Sheriff's Department says a new locally produced series of tapes will be available soon as a resource in the fight against meth.
The first tape released today, "Methamphetamine: Bad Chemistry" is designed to educate junior high aged kids about the negative physical, mental and criminal effects of meth.
The videos show the dangers of meth and feature the stories of local former meth addicts. The prevention videos were paid for with a $300,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice and Congressman David Obey.
The goal is to get the tapes in the hands of all area schools and libraries. The videos will also be aired on local television and cable public access stations next month.
The videos were written, directed and produced by Rucinski & Reetz Communication, LLC of Mosinee.
