MILWAUKEE (AP) _ A Milwaukee County Sheriff's squad car was hit by a drunken driver who then tried to leave the scene.
The department says the squad car was at a traffic stop on Interstate 94 around 2:30 a.m. Sunday when a women sideswiped the deputy's car and then kept going.
The deputy left the traffic stop and caught up with the driver. The deputy says there were numerous cans of open and unopened cans of beer in the woman's car.
The woman allegedly told the deputy she didn't stop because she didn't hit a person and thought she hit the other car, not the squad. She was booked into the Milwaukee County jail and will be responsible for damage to the squad car.
