A Langlade County court official tells NewsChannel 7 that a plea deal is in the works for Steven Van Vleit.

He's accused of driving drunk and crashing his SUV into the a motel in the Antigo area, killing a man inside.

Van Vleit is charged with homicide by negligent and intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and third offense drunk driving.

He's also facing three felony bail jumping charges in connection to the case.

He was scheduled for a court appearance on Friday, but that has been postponed. Now, he's expected to enter a plea on September 18, the day the trial was set to begin.

Authorities say Van Vleit's blood alcohol level was more than four times the legal limit at the time of the accident.

They say he drove his vehicle into the Good Nite Inn, killing 26-year-old Jesus Castillo, who was inside sleeping at the time.
