The $28 million dollar water park and hotel complex project is planned for an area south of Cedar Creek Mall, just off Highway 39/51.

The design by Verona-based Horizon Development is a Northwoods theme aimed at boosting tourism by families.

Economic development consultant for the Village of Rothschild, Jim Jacobson, said the new water park will likely attract families looking for more affordable vacation spots. The park, to be called "The Lodge at Cedar Creek," will be the largest such park north of Wisconsin Dells.

Investors expect to secure contract in April, with the construction to begin in July and a tentative opening set for July 2004.
