The smell of cheese curds and other Wisconsin staples are now hovering over Marshfield.
The Central Wisconsin State Fair kicked off Wednesday and the General Manage,r Carol Kerper says if the weather stays nice... they'll beat their average attendance of 130-thousand people.
The theme of this year's Fair is "Agriculture: The Root Of Our Fair."
Kerper, says they chose that theme to honor Marshfield's agricultural roots and to remind people to continue to support the many local farmers, 4-H and FFA members that bring their livestock to the fair.
She says there are several new entertainment acts taking to the stage the first time this year.
"In our barnyard court we have a survival show, we have two separate stages on the grounds set up in that area for family style shows. We also have a group that does a medley of songs and story telling," say Kerper.
Mainstream recording artist Everclear is performing on Thursday night at the Grandstand.
Also new this year... they have a tractor pull scheduled on Monday.
Kerper says one thing that hasn't changed is the traditional fair food.
"I love the food, that's personal my favorite part. I could eat my way through the fair."
Parking is free, daily admission to the fair is $8. The fair runs through Monday.
