A Minnesota woman has died following a motorcycle crash near Minocqua Friday morning, according to a Minocqua Police Department news release.

Doreen Borth, 46, of Fairfax, Minnesota was pronounced dead early Sunday morning.

The news release says a witness reported the accident at approximately 11:45 a.m. Friday on Wis. Highway 70 West at Squirrel Lake Road in the Town of Minocqua.

The motorcycle was driven by David Anthony-William Borth, also 46 and of Fairfax. Police say he was traveling west on Highway 70 when he lost control of his motorcycle as westbound vehicles ahead were stopped waiting to turn left on Squirrel Lake Road. Neither occupant of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet.

The two were taken to Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, then airlifted via Spirit Air to St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield.
