A Stevens Point gas station has reopened after a truck damaged a gas pump Wednesday night.

A large moving truck was pulling into the Kwik Trip on Old Highway 18 around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, when the driver struck a gas pump, causing significant damage to the pump, according to the Portage County Sheriff's Office.

Although there was not a large release of gasoline, the pipes were ruptured in the crash causing the gas station to shut down for several hours.

No injuries were reported but authorities were on scene for at least 90 minutes to lift the truck off the pump and remove it.
