The wild ginseng harvest begins September first. It's ginseng that's not tended or nurtured by humans.
You can learn more about the harvest by watching the video above. Wild ginseng is found across the state, but it's more prevalent in the southwest and western portions of the state. However, it can't be harvest on state or federally owned lands.

The harvest runs through November 1.
