As people feel a renewed sense of patriotism, stores that sell flags say sales have remained steady. Storeowners say they're not seeing any kind of increase with the start of the war. One new thing stores have started stocking is a supply of service flags.

"Its for people that have family in the military," Theresa Cashman, owner of Badgerland Flags in Stevens Point said. "The star represents how many people they have in the military."

The service flag is an official banner authorized by the Dept. of Defense. They were designed during World War I. Each blue star represents one family member currently serving. A gold star represents a family member who died in the line of duty.

The service flag is an indoor flag and should be shown out the front window of a home or organization, but it can also be displayed in a car window.
