MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The number of passengers that used General Mitchell International Airport set an all-time, one-month record in June.

The total of 789,513 passengers was a more than 14 percent increase over the previous year and eclipsed the previous high by nearly 45,000 passengers set in March.

Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker said that June was the 15th straight month of record passenger numbers at Mitchell.

Mitchell ranks among the top 10 percent of U.S. cities in number of destinations served nonstop. Stats from the U.S. Department of Transportation says average airfares at Mitchell are lower than those at 46 other U.S. airports.
