Many people have been enjoying the Wisconsin Valley Fair over the past week, riding the rides, checking out the animals, and enjoying the live music.
But one thing that some people may not have been doing is eating right.
The fair offers several different tasty treats for fairgoers, but most of them are also high in calories.
Despite that, health officials do have some tips for people looking to limit the damage to their waistlines.
Dot Kalmon, a health educator with the Marathon County Health Department says, "When you're at the fair, you can take small size portions, and you can choose to share some of the less healthy things with family or friends you're with, so the portion size stays small."
Kalmon also says eating a healthy meal before heading to the fair is a good idea, because it will get some nutritious foods into your system, and keep you from getting hungry while there.
