The Wausau Fire Department's ride for Muscular Dystrophy continues to grow. Organizers of the event say this year's ride raised more money for the MDA than it's first three years combined.

The fifth annual ride was held back on May 17th. It started at Harley Davidson of Wausau and ended at the Mohican North Star Casino in Bowler.

This year's event had more than twelve hundred participants with about one thousand bikes.

Local Firefighter Andy Adrian presented the MDA with this year's donation of 65 Thousand dollars. He says that firefighters around the U.S. chose to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy and Wausau wanted to do their part.

The Wausau Fire Department has only been participating for five years, but is already the number one fire department contributor in the State. The ride will take place again next year in May.
