MADISON, Wis. (AP) _ A college dropout will face trial in the stabbing death of a Madison man after a judge reviewed evidence and testimony that included a DNA match and multiple confessions.
According to the information presented in court, 20-year-old Adam Peterson told his parents during calls from jail and also told detectives who arrested him that he stabbed Joel Marino in the victim's home in a robbery attempt.
Peterson was arrested last month at his mother's home in Grant, Minnesota.
Judge Shelley Gaylord ruled there was probable cause Peterson committed a felony and bound him over on one count of first-degree intentional homicide.
Peterson's lawyer entered a not guilty plea for him.
A criminal complaint says DNA tests on a bloody knife found in the 31-year-old Marino's home matched Peterson.
