At 12:54 on Friday, July 18th, the Lincoln County 911 Center was notified of a structure fire on Grundy Road in the Town of Skanawan.

When crews from Tomahawk and the Town of Russell arrived, the building was fully involved. The house is a complete loss.

Crews have not determined the cause of the fire, but they believe it may have been electrical in nature.

The home belonged to Randy and Tara Anderson, the father and step-mother of Rochelle Anderson who was found murdered earlier this year at a Tomahawk gas station.

Randy and Tara were not home when the fire started. Their three dogs died in the fire.

They also lost almost all of their mementos of their daughter Rochelle, and they say the biggest tragedy of that is that her daughter Isabelle will never be able to see them.

Randy and Tara say, "We had videotapes from camcorders of her with Isabelle, and her with us, and interactions so Isabelle could hear her voice, because she's never going to remember it, and she's never going to know it now because we had the only audio of Rochelle; we had the only video we're aware of, of Rochelle."

They were however able to salvage some items, including Rochelle's birth certificate and high school diploma.

The fire also miraculously avoided their memorial garden, which they grew in Rochelle's honor.

The family plans to salvage what they can of their old home, and then hope to build a new one in the same spot. Randy says that the land has been in his family since the thirties, and he'll live in a tent there if he has to.

Unfortunately, the Anderson's did not have insurance on their home, and in order to try and make up for that, they've set up the Randal Anderson Senior Family Fire Fund at the Tomahawk Community Bank. If you would like to help, you can call there to donate.
