Summer boredom is disappearing thanks to a reading program at the Marathon County Public Library.
It encourages children to read during the summer and Tuesday the program had some help from Appleton Magician Bruce Hetzler.
The theme for this year's summer reading program is “Catch The Reading Bug.'”
Librarian Diane Peterson hopes that after seeing the show more children are bitten by the reading bug.
"Besides the magic, he also ties in a lot of library related information and lets them know reading is very important."
Peterson says kids that don't read during the summer are not as prepared for school in the fall.
Children and adults can sign up for the program at any time and can even win prizes for reading.
