Northcentral Technical College is working with UW Marathon County and UW Oshkosh to give nursing students the chance to earn their associates and bachelors degrees while staying in the area.
"We can keep those quality, skilled professionals right here in Wausau. Providing them quality healthcare and at the same time providing the education they so desire and we so richly deserve as consumers," says Melanie Platt-Gibson, N.T.C.'s Director of Marketing and Communication.
NTC says their year old Health Sciences Building has given them more room so they can increase the number of students they accept to the program.
Before, NTC officials say they had an eight to ten year waiting list.
