Marshfield's mayor says there's something big in store for the city in the next few months. Roundy's Coporation, which owns Copps Food stores is talking about adding onto the property it currently owns on the city's south side. The mayor says representatives are talking with property owners who own three pieces of land adjacent to the Washington Square site.
"They're willing to proceed and are now looking at plans for the development of possibly a new store on the south end of Marshfield," Mayor Mike Meyers said.
Meyers says the property owners are still in the process of agreeing on a price. The mayor says the corporation plans to demolish the old IGA store that stands there now, and build a new expanded store with the additional property.
