For kids suffering from life-threatening diseases and disabilities, the best days are ones where they can forget about all their problems. And Saturday, some of those children got just that at the Kippenberg Creek Kids Fishing Day.

Twenty two kids came from as far away as Maryland to the Half Moon Bar and Grill in Mosinee for the second annual event.

Volunteers acted as guides for the kids, taking them out on the water and helping them reel in a total of more than 100 fish.

But officials with Kippenberg Creek say the day's catch fails in comparison to the day's greatest reward.

Larry Beyer, President and Founder of Kippenberg Creek Kids says, "It means so much to these kids to offer something that they wouldn't be able to do otherwise. They're so excited about being out there to fish, you know, just a chance to do something they don't do in a normal day-to-day life."

Kippenberg Creek Kids is an organization devoted to helping kids with life-threatening illnesses and disabilities enjoy the outdoors, and they have several events planned throughout the next couple months.

If you would like more information about those upcoming activities, you can call them at (715) 873-4523.
