It's been more than two decades since a 29-year-old Lac du Flambeau woman was last seen. Tragically, the body of Susan Poupart was just five months later in the Chequamegon National Forest in Price County. Investigators call her death a homicide from the very beginning.
Poupart was last seen May 20th, 1990 leaving a house party on the Lac du Flambeau Indian Reservation.
In 2007, there were several John Doe hearings in Vilas County regarding the case, but no arrest has ever been made. The Sheriff at the time told NewsChannel 7 while there has never been a solid suspect, there have been many persons of interest.
The Vilas County Sheriff's Department, Lac du Flambeau Tribal Police and the Wisconsin Department of Justice are handling the case.
