Upcoming Blood Drives Held in Marathon County to Replenish Supply After Holiday Weekend
The higher accident rate over holiday weekends can deplete blood center supplies, so the Blood Center of Wisconsin is holding a series of blood drives in Marathon County to compensate.

The high amounts of travel and celebrations over Fourth of July weekend often mean a greater potential for a variety of accidents to happen.
In fact, the Blood Center of Wisconsin says they often end up depleting their blood supply over the extended holiday, and that's why they're organizing a series of blood drives over the week of July 7th.
Normally the Blood Center gets most of their donations from high school and college drives, but in the summer months the center has less access to those reliable donors.
So to combat the lack of donors, the Blood Center is hoping they can draw in new ones by offering a free ticket to the Wisconsin Valley Fair for anyone who donates.
Vicki Bohman, the Account Representative for the Blood Center of Wisconsin says, "It's an incentive we're doing to help replenish the blood supply after the holiday weekend. It's our thank you to donors for coming out, and it's a great way to help someone else and also get a free ticket."
There will be a blood drive at the Rothschild Village Hall on Monday, July 7th from 12:30 to 5:30, as well as one at Weston's Safety Building on Wednesday the 9th, from 12:30 to 5:30.
Donors need to be 17 years old, 110 pounds, and in good health.
