OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) _ The federal government is providing workshops throughout Wisconsin to provide advice on trying to make homes disaster resistant.
Federal Emergency Management Agency representatives were at a Lowe's store in Oshkosh yesterday. They had several tips to improve home flooding resistance.
For instance, they recommend using water proofing sealant and paints on basement walls and floors, installing a backwater valve on sewer lines and adding an extra sump pump.
The workshops will be held at home improvement stores and county fairs in flood damaged areas through Monday.
