Police say a motorcycle driver suffered only minor injuries in a crash near the intersection of Stewart and 18th Avenues in Wausau Wednesday evening, even though he was not wearing a helmet.

Officers say the crash happened around 5:45 p.m. and involved a motorcycle and car. The fire department was paged as the car was reported to be on fire.

Our reporter at the scene said the airbag in the car deployed and the bumper was lying on the ground.

Police say they're investigating to find out exactly how the accident happened.
