The McCleary Bridge, which connects Wausau and Rib Mountain, is closed after crews began pouring a concrete deck early Monday morning.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says the bridge will remain closed for several days while the concrete sets. Crews are expecting to reopen the bridge to one lane of traffic in each direction on Thursday evening.

Matt Bronson, who is the Project Development Supervisor says, "We're looking for final completion of repairs in mid-July, and (to) have the bridge open to four lanes of traffic at that time."

The bridge was shut down in August 2007 because of concerns about the bridge's stability.
