2 Arrested for Multiple OWIs Following Separate Wausau Crashes

Two people were arrested for operating while intoxicated Thursday following two separate collisions in Marathon County.

According the the Wausau Police Department incident report, the first crash occurred around 6:18 p.m. on Highway 51. Police say a 36-year-old man struck the back of trailer and left the scene. The vehicle was stopped a short time later and the driver was arrested for 4th offense OWI.

A second crash just before 10 p.m. near the 1800 block of Grand Avenue at Weston Avenue. A 39-year-old man was arrested for 5th offense OWI.

The suspects' names will not be released until charges are filed.
