Rapids Slaughterhouse: New Site, New Opponents

Quality Beef Processors has been looking for a home in Wisconsin Rapids for a few months now, but opponents seem to be following them around town.

The city council has rejected an east side site, and Northland Cranberries has concerns about having them next door on the west side of town.

The city council has agreed to sell a 33-acre lot to Quality Beef, but the next door neighbor is Northland Cranberries.

A lawyer for the company says they are worried about company image and the potential for contamination.

The Mayor of Wisconsin Rapids says most of the concerns will be dispelled if the two businesses sit down and talk specifics.
