The former Assistant Tomah Fire Chief is facing criminal charges after he's accused of vandalizing his ex-wife's house.
According to WEAU-TV, Timothy Alder, 42, is facing four charges including felony criminal damage to property. Court document says officers were dispatched to a home that had the power turned off and was vandalized with spray paint, including a racial slur.
Police found spray paint similar to the kind used in the vandalism in Adler's house and say the power was shut off in a way that only power and fire crews are trained to do. They say he also lied about being asleep when the incident happened.
The Tomah Fire Chief says Adler is now on administrative leave from the department.
Alder is expected to be formally charged on July 8. He's free on a $100,000 signature bond.
