The Christmas magic is alive and well Friday (December 23, 2005) morning, at least in La Crosse.
Todd Ondell has his wedding ring back after losing it in a holiday basket of fruit and nuts. He packed 240 of them for the downtown Rotary Club December 12, hand wrapping them in cellophane. He thinks that's when he lost it.
Ondell asked the recipients to check their baskets just to make sure. Jeff Rood, across the river in La Crescent, Minnesota, checked his and saw a braided gold ring. Ondell has made a donation to the Rotary Club in Rood's name.
