U.S. Congressman Dave Obey wants students to get more involved in the way college educations are financed. He paid a visit to UW-Marathon County Tuesday, asking students to voice concerns about the way Congress is handling their loans, by flooding the White House and congressional leaders with e-mails.
"Every year it's getting more and more difficult for children of working families to get a college education. That's not living up to the American ideal of equal opportunity," says Congressman Obey.
Congressman Obey also encouraged students at UW-Stevens Point to take some action. Obey also took questions about health care, the environment, the war in Iraq, and poverty and welfare.
