Two men arrested in Brown County during a child sex trafficking sting have ties to the Green Bay School District, according to WLUK-TV.
Four counties participated in the sting. As result 16 people were arrested.
Victor Iakimenko, 34, was charged Friday in Brown County Circuit Court with child enticement and using a computer to facilitate at child sex crime. According to WLUK-TV he identified himself as being a bus driver for Lamers Bus Lines.
A Green Bay School District employee, Jason Gehrke, 38, was also arrested during the sting. The district said Gehrke is has been placed on administrative leave while authorities conduct the investigation. Gehrke worked as a library media specialist at Keller and Wilder elementary schools in Green Bay. WLUK-TV also learned Gehrke had been a third grade teacher at Oneida Nation Elementary School.
Green Bay school parents received this voice message Monday from Superintendent Michelle Langenfeld.
"We are saddened, and quite frankly, very troubled to report to you that a staff person at Keller and Wilder Elementary schools, and a bus driver who transports our students were arrested this past weekend for charges as alleged by the Brown County Sheriff's Department."
