A 25-year-old Wausau man has died following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday evening in Marathon County.

A lieutenant with the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department says a vehicle driven by Jarvis Pittman lost control crossing the center line and struck another vehicle head-on. Icy road appear to be a factor in the crash, however the accident is still under investigation.

Both northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 52 between Spring Brook Road and Sunrise Road northeast of Wausau were closed temporarily as crews cleared the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, however their injuries were not believed to be serious.
