The Oneida County Sheriff's Department is giving an alert citizen credit for an arrest made in a string of burglaries in the Town of Monico.
According to a news release, on Jan. 22 just before 6 pm, the sheriff's office received a call from a witness saying a suspicious vehicle was on Neptune Lake Road and he had heard the sound of breaking glass. The caller took down the vehicle's license plate.
After an investigation, Anthony Briggs, 17, and 15-year-old suspect were arrested in connection to nine burglaries occurring at eight properties. The burglaries took place between Dec. 27, 2012 and Jan. 22, 2013.
The Sheriff's Department believe more suspects are involved and expect to make more arrests.
