2 Cited for OWI on Snowmobiles in Lincoln County

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department says two people have been cited for operating a snowmobile while intoxicated in separate incidents.

According the Lincoln County incident report, on Saturday afternoon on County Road L, north of Tomahawk, the Rec. Deputy observed two sleds fail to stop for a stop sign near County Rd N.
When contact was made with one of the drivers who is from St. Charles, IL the odor of intoxicants was noted. The operator was placed through field sobriety tests and taken into custody for the offense.

Early Sunday morning, a 35-year-old Merrill man was cited for operating a snowmobile while intoxicated. The Rec. Deputy stopped a sled on County Rd G at Memorial Drive northeast of Merrill, after he observed the operator fail to stop for a stop sign at Riverbend Rd. The driver was placed through field sobriety tests and taken into custody for the offense.
