2 Charged with Running Prostitution Ring in Wausau

Two people are facing felony charges in Marathon County after they are accused running a prostitution ring soliciting at least three woman.

Aaron Brown, 28, and Kristen Boyd, 30, were formally charged Wednesday in Marathon County Circuit Court.

The two are accused of setting up ads on backpage.com, a website similar to Craigslist, to arrange sexual encounters with women that worked for them. According to the criminal complaint, the alleged prostitution operation began in August.

Brown and Boyd are both charged with charged with solicitation of prostitutes and pimping. Boyd is charged with an additional count of prostitution, as she's accused of participating in the alleged crime, and two additional counts of bail jumping.

The charges against Brown and Boyd are result of an undercover police sting on September 19.
