A Wausau family is without a home after a fire ripped through their duplex late Sunday afternoon.

The Wausau Fire Department's battalion chief tells NewsChannel 7 a pot was left unattended on a stove on the second floor of the duplex at 605 Jefferson Street. He says it caught on fire and then set the home's kitchen on fire.

No one was hurt in the blaze.

The battalion chief says the property sustained about $10,000 worth of smoke and water damage.
