Lots of things change with the seasons and local animal health experts say the care you give your pets is no exception, so before you take your dog for a hike through the woods, an adventure at the dog park or even into the backyard, here are some things you should do to ensure your beloved pet says healthy.

If you haven’t already started giving your dog a heartworm treatment, animal health experts say get to it.

You may have noticed ticks are already back out and about, so you should make sure your dog’s been given a Lyme disease vaccine as well.

There are also some precautions you should take as the dog days of summer make their way to Wisconsin.

Animal health experts recommend making sure you dog always has a place of shelter from the sun and a constant supply of fresh, cool water.
