An arrest has been made in connection to the murder of a Tomahawk woman in March 2008, according to the Tomahawk Police Department.
A news release from Tomahawk police say 18-year-old Derek K. Domke was arrested Wednesday by its officers, with assistance from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department and Wisconsin Department of Justice.
Domke is being held at the Lincoln County Jail.
Lincoln County District Attorney Don Dunphy is reviewing the case to determine what charges to file. No additional information is being released at this time.
The body of Rochelle Anderson was found outside the Zephyr Fuel and Convenience store in Tomahawk March 22.
Court records show the last address for the man in custody is across the street from Zepher.
According to the Wausau Daily Herald, Domke had been enrolled at Tomahawk High School, but Principal Scott Swenty is not commenting on Domke's current status.
A classmate of Domke says she was shocked to hear about his arrest. It shocks me, what I know of him at school he seems like a really nice kid," says Ashley Johnson.
Johnson graduated from Tomahawk High School in January and says Domke was still attending classes while she was there.
Johnson also knew the victim but says Domke and Anderson's path's didn't cross at school. "She's like four years ahead of us, so I don't think they had a connection at school what so ever."
Nathan Ives, 21, of Wausau, was named a person of interest in the case. He's being held in the Marathon County Jail on unrelated charges.
