Here at NewsChannel 7, we are gearing up to launch our third annual "Holiday Mail Call" program with our newspaper partner, the Wausau Daily Herald. It's your chance to send our troops a special greeting or gift this holiday season, something one local soldier says they always appreciate.
SSGT Jeffrey Beever served an 18-month tour of duty in Iraq and was overseas the past two holidays. He always made sure his wife and children sent his soldiers something special during the season.
"It's nice to get packages and stuff from home. It's a constant reminder of saying, 'Thanks, we appreciate what you're doing over there,'" says SSGT Beever.
So how can you take part?
Starting Friday, November 11, go to our www.wsaw.com and click on the "Holiday Mail Call" icon, where you can submit the name and address of a loved one serving our country. They can be from any hometown and based or stationed anywhere.
We'll publish those addresses on our website, and they'll also appear in the paper.
You can send as many holiday cards and boxes as you like. You can also submit addresses to the Daily Herald at the following address:
