The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department says a 48-year-old person of interest in the murder of Dale Meister is in custody.

Meister was found dead in his residence in Wisconsin Rapids on March 4th.

In a press release Friday afternoon, Police Chief Kurt Heuer says the man is in custody on unrelated charges.

The Police Department says they executed search warrants yesterday in Wisconsin Rapids and the Town of Rome as a part of the homicide investigation.

They seized evidence during those searches, which is being processed by the Wisconsin State Crime Lab.

Heuer says the investigation remains active. Anyone with information about the homicide is asked to contact the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department at 715-421-8764 or Wood County Crime Stoppers at 877-325-7867.
