Tim Davis has hyper phenylalanemia. It's a rare brain disorder. Many people who are born with it don't live past the age of three. Despite the odds, Tim Davis has reached the age of 31, and has been competing in the Special Olympics for the past 23 years.

Davis is the Special Olympics Male Athlete of the year. This, in addition to his other accomplishments, drew the attention of State Representative Mary Ann Lippert. The Pittsville Republican came to Marshfield to present him with a plaque honoring his achievements.

"He is a person that never gives up." Leslie Davis, Tim's father said with a smile. "He may not be able to accomplish a particular thing, but he always tries."

Tim currently works for the Opportunity Development Center in Marshfield, a workplace for disabled individuals.
