Police Tracking Bank Robbery Tips

Tips to police continue to come in about two recent bank robberies in our area.

Surveillance pictures from the latest robbery in Iola have been released to the media so the public can get a look at the suspect.

Investigators believe the suspect is the same person seen in another surveillance tape from a bank robber almost one month ago in Stevens Point.

In both cases, the armed suspect came in just before closing. He was also wearing a disguise with a black frizzy wig, mustache and a beard.

Tips to police are helping in the investigation.

"We're getting a whole range of leads from different areas, different sightings, unusual things people saw," said Iola Police Chief Tom Hansen.

Investigators are also asking local store clerks to be on the lookout. The money stolen from Iola was new crisp bills, including some two dollar bills.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Iola Police Department at 715-445-4353 or Crimestoppers at 888-258-9955.
